    michelin tyres

just wondered if anybody has any experience with michelin off road tyres, Ive currently got 'Deserts' front and rear which are unbelievable off road but don't have much in the road manners department to shout about.. so now i have both a set of spare allys and a set of spoked rims i'm looking for a good enduro tyre and a supermoto slick to have fun on.

I am leaning toward T63's but have no experience with these, also looking at Pilot Road for the allys... anyone used either?

I used a set of Michelin BAJAs on my xtz... they were 90%off/10%on... but stuck well on.. the major issue was that it sounded like i was riding a flat all the time or driving an HGV.. the road noise was unbelievable... Not much help i know but hey i tried.

Lol the deserts are just the same.. but as I have spent most my life either driving an HGV or Land Rover I'm now stone deaf so who Care's

The Deserts have a reputation as being pretty lethal on wet tarmac (and are way too expensive to chew up on tarmac) so thought about the T63's but these two have a rubbish reputation on wet cornering. Few people have said the Anakee is a better option but others have slammed them as being useless on anything worse than dry gravel which rules out green lane use and the need for yet another set of rims/tyres... I'd bung on TKC's but i have to stick with Michelin's.

No experience of those you mentioned, but have had two sets of Metz Enduro 3's, (before current Tourances), great offroad and blacktop grip, wet or dry. Unfortunately, crap longevity. As above, for road noise and vibration on road is quite an eye opener too!

I used to run a T63 on the back of the TA for off-road/UK rally use, but found it pretty sticky on the road - same pattern but softer compound and build than the Desert. Did not wear too well, ripped knobbles of with the TA, so I recon your bigger power would kill it quicker. Still the best rear tyre I usedd on the TA though. Matched with a Enduro Comp front, was never too scary on the road, even wet/snowy like at the Christmas meet 07.
