Nail - to remove or not?

Okay, I managed to pick up a nail in my front tyre today, which is a pain as its got another 6000 odd miles left on it . The tyre pressure is still fine, and no air appears to be escaping. As the nail seems to plugging the hole it made, can I leave it in there, or do I risk the inner tube getting punctured?

TA's use tubes so if you have a nail and the tyre is not deflating then carefully remove it before it enters the tube
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

With an inner tube it would go flat if the tube was holed even if the nail was left in where as a tubeless tyre tends the nail would act as a plug.

Either way remove it as with a tubeless tyre even if it is holed and sealed by the nail you'd rather have it go down in front of you than fly out through rotaional forces when you're doing speed. Especially as it's your front tyre.

When I was a courier back in '95 I left a nail in the rear of my CX500 and had it fly out whilst doing 80 up the M40 near Oxford, was about 8pm, dark as hell and peeing down with rain...All of a sudden the bike acted as though the rear wanted to overtake the front. I just let go of the throttle and let it slow itself down...Just glad that there was nothing else behind me at that time. If it was my front tyre then not sure the bike would have stayed upright.

Well its out, I will just have to keep an eye on the tyre pressure to make sure it hasn't holed the tube.

It's the best thing to do. Any foreign object in the tyre needs to come out asap. After all, they're the thing that connect you to the road.
