    Mitas Tyers For E2e

After running on tkc's for the last year i knew i needed somthing a little more road ready for the e2e luckilly during my run to czeck republic and France it became clear that they all use MITAS so i made a few calls and the good people of mitas have gifted me (Declared) some E-07 tyers for the run.

The best man to talk to about these tyres is Mick on 0845 230 1966 or his website which is below he is a real tyre guru and a really decent bloke with time to give advice and not just bike tyres but anything rubber, ooer misses,

These are a range of MITAS enduro tyers

So having fitted them i thought i should give them a blast around my favorite run.Stonehenge/salisbury/the chase/poole/new-forest.

Stonehenge is about 25 miles from me and is part of most of my local runs.

    Start point

Now i know their good as i followed poli last year on a salisbury run and was impressed at how well they coped. so today i went out and did the same run to see for myself how they would cope and eventually did about 130 miles of which 25 was off road on farm track, gravel, shale, flint, both wet and dry.

These are 130-80-17s, so nice and tidy.

    On the twin

Braking seems to be much better which is a must in the new forest.

So what did i think-Well very good, they are much quieter than my old tyers and a lot less vibrations they still look pritty rugged with about 15 mm of tread.Road handling is good both in comfort and cornering. They are not mud pluggers (more on that later) but at less than £50 English pounds they are the dogs danglies for mainly road and some medium dirt riding.
For the dirty stuff i am getting something from the MITAS spring collection.

So do i recomend them YES DEFINITLY i think there a great tyer for knocking around on. I will update this thread after the e2e and record mileadge and so on. I think we are a bit slave-ish to fads and fashions so i'm happy to have found a good tyer for a decent price.

Where can you get these tyers for the best price, well i looked all over and the best result was http://www.tyre-finder.co.uk/index.htm a really decent man who is a guru on all things tyerwise. and not just stuff for @s but any tyer stuff modern or not.

Glad you found another type of tyre.
Will be interested in the mileage factor, as an adventure tyre for an adventure bike.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

    Hi Mel

I was going to put road tyres on myself but after now running on TKCs I will revert back to the Heidenau K60 Enduro's that I have had on since getting the bike - very similar to the E-07 and E-06 and a bit like Michelin Enduro 3 Sahara's

The rear has loads of tread left but the front is quite worn and will be completely trashed after the trip - done almost 3000 miles on them

    See you there

02 RD07a RWB, Powerbronze tall screen, Remus Grand Prix, TT crash bars, TT pannier frame, Zega style panniers, Alpos top box,TT bar risers, TT headlamp guard, Heated grips, mainstand, Heidenau K60s for road and light offroad, TKC80s for the dirty stuff, Scottoiler, Autocomm, TT Zumo mount, Zumo 550 and most of all A BIG GRIN !!! Oh, and a very nice RD04 HRC coloured Marathon Replica

Well for an update as you may well know i have just done 1800 miles through some crappy weather and high winds on all kinds of road and these tyres were brilliant, they grip well and behave themselves under any situation i put them through,so a good tyre for road and medium off road. Total miles so far 3000 and wearing very well. Also many people will have huge flatspots after the E2E and should/might replace them but these are allready shaped like a trial tyre so are still uniform.and in good order, and rugged looking enough for them thats that way inclined.
So far a top tyer-- mel

    Re: Mitas Tyers For E2e

Mitas tyres are great !! Ive been using em for ages on my AT, I use the E07's as my general purpose tyres and E09's for more dirty stuff.

The 07's are the best universal Ive used on dirt and are OK on the tar

The E09's are better on the dirt than TKC's and almost as good on the tar.
In the pics below the E09's have about 3500km on them

+ in Oz the Mitas tyres are cheap, also you can now get a 140/80 x 17 in the E07

I have fitted the E-08 in front and very happy with it so far.
Have used it for the last 1000 km, wet and dry.
    Can recommend it.
