I like to carry one for pumping back up the tyres after offroading and when on hols and while it does the job, it's a big lump of a thing.
Anyone have any links to something compact and reliable, preferably suitable/targeted at bikers ?

have you considered using the " one shot " co2 cannisters used in emergency puncture repair kits, the cheapest way is to buy the valve adapter from a pushbike shop and the cylinders from the internet, it's far cheaper than motorbike shop kits.

Yeah, I carry some of those for emergencies (like when the compressor breaks down!) but they're no use for just bringing the pressure back up for roadriding![]()
You can get a little trigger valve thingy to regulate how much co2 goes in to your tyre, my mate bought one off Ebay a while ago.

I have one from lidl's,never let me down. I know stanbloke has the same and it fits under his seat now he has removed all the plastic casing and left just the machine itself.
remove the plastic case and its a small little motor and pump. FFS dont get your fingers anywhere near it when its running though, unless you want to lose them, and all compressors get hot so dont be in a rush to pack it away afterwards.

I'll have a go of chopping it down and see what difference that makes so, it was only cheap so no great loss if things go pearshaped![]()
Well, we use some very small compressors that come with "air ride kits" in custom bikes. This allows you to get more or less pressure in the shocks while you ride. I'ts not a very effective thing, its more a "style" thing.
Anyways, the compressors are very small and will work ok. Just not sure how long they'll take to fill a tyre.

How about this mate. Not used or seen one, but seems like it could do the trick:
