There really seems to be a rather large ranging sum of knowledge on the XRV forum, but this is maybe going off thread a touch....

I have carried one of them holts tyre weld cans around in my tankbag
    for years.

never had to use it and to be honest i dont know if anything would come out now if i squirted it(i've had it so long)

i heard once that your not supposed to use them on tubed tyres but i used it on a tube and it worked ok. just took a bit more effort to get it out from under the tyre casing.

kymmy may be right about the ultra-seal type products but i've also heard even that stuff can imbalance a bike at higher speed cause it is like a live-load inside the tyre because it doesn't set.

but you hear allorts dont you?

I have Ride On Tyre Sealant in my tyres and it makes no difference to the handling and performance of the bike, at any speed. It feels a bit odd for about 5 miles after you first put it in, but then you don't even notice it.

It doesn't "set" because it is so gloopy it actually keeps the inside of the tyre coated rather than forming a pool of gunge at the bottom of the tyre when parked.

I've done about 3500 miles with it in my tyres and don't even notice it's in there. But I still carry the little plug thingies and a CO2 injector and some canisters in case of a larger hole.

I bought some of that at the National last year and it reduces the amount of times I have to re-inflate my tires and it seems to help with the balancing.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

I ran ride on sealant in the Tiger tyres for months with no noticable balance issues .......Just ordered two more bottles for the AT,

As Annette says unlike a certain green product out there it coats the inside rather than collection in the bottom when static

Mine's in the topbox, but wrapped in an old jiffy bag (ie a bubble-wrap lined postal envelope)

Unmarked can even though I sometimes carry a large chain and lock in the same space.
