best place to store a 'tyreweld' can on a bike

i am going touring and want to take a can of 'tyreweld' with me, those
pressurised type
where would you think is the best place for storage??
as you dont want it in direct sunlight or to close to the engine
and also thought it might bake in a hot black top box or panniers in warmer climates
ant thoughts???

Why tyreweld? Surely either a puncture preventer in the tyres or even a tyre on repair kit with some inflator bulbs would be a better option...

Either way unless you're in the middle of the sahara I don't think heat will be a problem

I have my Holts tyre can thingie in a wee touareg bag that stows under the front head lamp .. its black.. no heat probs.

Its very accessable no need to unpack

Thats for uk trips.. not liable to starve to death in the wilderness

long haul. carry spare tubes and a wee 12v compressor

I had one stowed under the top box rack, held in place with some heavy duty rubber bands, between the rack and the rear light.

I always keep it in my topbox, no problems with heat or anything. In fact, the instructions tell you to heat the can before use, obviously not with a blowtorch or anything like that

the only advice I can give is don't store it under your seat, I did that once and somehow the can released it's contents under there.

I keep mine under the seat in the little box along with tools etc. However as Sharrie points out, they can be prone to pop! I had a mate some years ago who dropped the bike and the canister exploded in his bumbag. Nice

I wrap mine in some high density foam stuff which seems to keep the can unmarked... so far. The other fave place on trailies was strapped to the front mudguard on a hi-rise mudguard.
