    Michelin tyre confusion

    I'm a bit confused with the Michelin tyre website.

    Take a look at the link below and it gives a couple of options for my varadero. Now click on both the rear tyres and the little spider graph suggests that the anakees scoring 455454 are better all round than the pilot roads which score 345354 respectively.

    So are the anakees really better gripping tyres or is there a different base setting for each graph making the whole thing meaningless. What do you think?

    Has anyone actually used both tyres and can comment.

    You're right. In my experience the Pilot Roads have massive grip; they seem to be under-selling themselves.

    I can see that most bikes that can take Pilot Roads would also be able to take grippy race-track tyres, so in that context a modest score would make more sense. Which suggests that they are using a different base for the Annakees. This makes the comparison PR / Annakees valueless.
