    [QUOTE=Paul-S;443489]
    Best way would be to find somebody near you who has them and try them out[QUOTE]

    I'm fairly happy to try them out. I'm not put off by the opinion of a tyre wholesaler who doesn't stock them but thinks I should pay £180 for a pair of TKC80!

    If I don't like them, there are plenty of users of them on this forum, I imagine I could get a reasonable amount of money back for a nearly-new pair.

    I'm just trying to find someone who stocks them at a reasonable price. I can get them online but without guarantees of delivery time; would ideally like them by the weekend. I could get TKCs for £140 delivered next day. If Ks cost more or will take much longer then I'll be tempted to try TKCs...

    Thanks to all for opinions

    I was leaning towards the K60 but then availability clinched it for the TKC80 (available next day, as opposed to "probably about a week"). Price 140 delivered, about the same for both.

    So, heavy steering and a tendency to let go quite unpredictably (as warned) but nothing I can't live with. Cold and wet roads didn't reveal any special horrors so I think I can live with these for a winter. Coped with last traces of snow fine, though so far I've only exposed them to small amounts of thin, slushy stuff (enough that I'd have been nervous on road tyres, mind).

    Re: TKC80 (yes another thread about them!)

    I’ve used TKC for about 5 years and love them but this time I went for
    A Dunlop RR908 the TKC is like a road tyre compared to the 908, if you
    Start using the TKC it will fill strange for the first few rides, but it does
    have loads of grip, I’m not saying you can get the pegs down but I have never
    felt it was going to break away
