    Heidenau K60 Scout

I'm in need of new tyres for the GSA and following Vader's experiences I fancy giving the Heidenau K60 a chance. Only problem is I've searched the internerd and can't find any UK stock of the sizes I need (K60R 150/70B-17 and K60F 110/80B-19). The sizes are made but are a bit like hen's teeth.

Can anyone recommend a local place that may not have a web presence that could have stock and would supply and post them and I'll get them fitted locally.

    Hi Boris,

I'm not sure if these dudes are UK based but I've heard good reports by UK riders who've bought from them.

I am about to go for a very simular tyre, Mefo Super Explorer . From these guys......

Mefo Sport Super Explorer Rear Tyre - MFE99

    cheers, Bob.

Well they have the stock but they are about £35 dearer for the pair than Heidenau K60 Tyres. In saying that they don't have any stock so the price is a bit academic.

I've not heard anything about them Bob. What draws you towards this over the K60 or TKC?

Good reports for mileage from riders on ADV, lots reckon they're getting 5,000+ miles. I got 3,000 miles out of my last TKC so I think I'll give the rear Mefo a go with TKC or Karoo front.

Just to let you know that the rear is not available in the scout version yet. They are still jumping up and down about that over at the German GS forum.
Also make sure you get the front changed over by a proffesional as i still have problems with mine and loose air.
But tyre wise they are brill, still love them.Done now about 3k miles and the wear is good so far

I thought you had the Scouts. So what have you got on the back then?

Sorry to be ignorant but what is the difference between the standard K60 and the scout I can't see any information about it.

The Scout is a different compound, much better in the wet. The normal K60 are a bit twitchy when it gets wet
