france : minimum tread depth

Anyone know the minimum tread depth in France?
For bikes of course.

I think it's the same as the uk which is --------------------umm sorry dont know what it is as I change my tyres waaaaaay before I have to

if its low enough to worry about then its low enough to change

The legal limit in the UK is 1mm but I would never go that far down with tyres. The rear on my bike is down to just over 3mm and the front has a bit more but they will both be replaced before I go to Germany in june.

You could always fit new ones for the trip and run the old ones out when you return.

I change mine early too but my brother doesnt want to before our trip to France next month. I tried googling it but couldnt find anything about minimum tread for motorbikes.

Yeah, but isn't that 1mm over 3/4 of the tyres' width, the remaining 1/4 must have visible tread.
Ie, run them 'till they are about bald in't middle
