    Xl600lm rebuild

Well i finally got myself this bike after looking for years for a decent one and thanks to a steer from kitped i met a feller out in the mendips who sold me an honest old steed for £675 English pounds
    So some pictures.

    This is mine getting sorted

And now ready for powdercoating and engine tidy/checkup

The lumps in pritty good nick

As you can see its still in good nick for an old bike so it will be quite easey to bring back too a good standard.
But i will be fitting a new front light after watching mudwiz on the longest day...

    Pictures? What pictures??

From the earlier posts, it looks like you've got a nice bike there. Nothing that a bit of fettling cannot sort out.

19:50 - All of a sudden, the pictures appear. Well, two of them anyway - odd!!!

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Hi cabby the bikes fine, engine fired up first time valvs and stuff are all good. As far as i could see the onley snag was the frame was just starting to get some rust on the joints and stuff. So for £90 English pounds A1 will powdercoat it and my bars they would have done the swing-arm as well but i' not changing any of the origional colour scheme. And it will still come in under my budget of 1k give or take £50 so happy as larry,,,,,

    Re: Xl600lm rebuild

    Have fun.

Did the same about 5 years ago.
Got one with a siezed engine and rebuilt from there. Rebore, cam and followers, complete crank etc and it's been great.
Starting to look old again now though. Got to put another barrel and piston on as when I did it the first time there were still a couple of marks down the bore (even after taking it out as far as it we'd dare go) and it's got some piston knock now.
