XL500R rear wheel same as XL250R??

Hi,
I need to buy a new rear wheel for my 1982 XL500R & can only find a wheel from an XL250R (same era & also 17") - Does anyone know if they are the same?

I can get one from an 85 XL500r. I'm looking at the front. Problem is it is in Canada and would cost a bit to ship.
