    XL600 lmf Carbs

    Hi All
Been having trouble getting my LMF running and reckon it has to be down to a problem in the carb somewhere. The bike will start first time with the choke on, when I turn the choke down/ off and try to rev it, it stalls, seems like it is getting too much fuel, I've read the book and played about with the fuel screw and the air screw and tried to set it as it says in the book but to no avail. any help would be great
Also on the carb it has 2 breathers on them 1 on the left and 1 on the right, which the bike will only run if these 2 and blocked, was wondering if this is normal? as the book makes no mention of this?
Any help or pointers on this would be great.
    Cheers Dave

    Re: XL600 lmf Carbs

Hi, can i suggest you take the carbs off and spend a fiver on a tin of carb cleaner and an hour or so to beat them into submission. it could be they are in need of some tlc. Check the joining linkage between the two housings, If you put a piece of old sheet on your worktop you will see how much gunk and dirt has built up over time.
Then set up the valve clearence and possibly allow a little extra on the zorst valv's as this will help pull the fuel/mix through. then set every thing else to the wksp standard and give it a go.
Also oil/clean the throttle and choke cables and any linkage at worst it will service them and take them out of the equasion......

Also clean the air filter as it could be as simple as that. If you have a clean garage then run it for a minuet or so with the filter off,if the problem goes away happy days, if not swear at your bike a little.
