    Noob with XL250R

    Hi,
Been reading a few posts so thought I better join in
Wanted to do a bit of greenlaning and stuff so bought an XL250R last year as a cheapo project.
    Piccy as bought:

however whilst replacing the bits i didn't like and making as useable as poss I've ended up spending far too much and putting it back to near standard. I've still got a few things to sort out before Its ready for an MOT
as it was at the start of Feb:

the list of "to do" jobs include freeing off the speedo drive in the fornt hub, replacing the rear wheel as the rim is badly corroded and making a rear light and number plate mounting bracket.

I haven't set myself a deadline for it being finished but I want to some use of it this summer

    cheers
    Tom

Looking good Tom. Don't go too mad or you won't want to take it off road.

Looks good. What year is it?

I'd like one of those headlight cowls for mine.

Its a '83 model. the headlamp cowl is a standard item and I think it originally had a black decal on it.

    Re: Noob with XL250R

hmm been awhile since my last post, I've made a bit of progress with it: the rear light and number plate are now fitted, a few mare parts are sitting in the box waiting to be fitted but I'm struggling to find the time to work on it so i doubt I'm going to get much time to ride it. I've stuck it up for sale on a couple of other bike forums and if it goes then so be it.
Hopefully I can pick up another one when I have more spare time.
