stick with XL or change to ??

I am seeking some advice from you guys out there , i have recently been green laning again with a friend who has a kdx200 (nice light machine but two stroke) i have a xl250r 1985 (good old horse) which although gets me thru the sticky stuff is (as i found out a couple of times) heavy as f@ck.

now this is where my connumdrum lies if i sell my xl what do i go for?

this is where you guys could help me out with some sound advice about different bikes, am looking for a green laner road legal about 200-250cc
prob looking to spend £700 ish.

was thinking about the xr`s ??

yep i would recomend the xr ive owned a xr400 for about 5 years without any probs but you may be hard pushed to find a good one for around £700

thanks mr b , seen a few on ebay xr250`s about 1995 ish, still contemplating though.
do you go out on the lanes with yours at all ?

yes i did buy it for greenlaning but not done that much for a while due to somerset not having many lanes left. but ive now just started a 4 day week where i work so ive just started doing a bit more as the lanes are nice and peacfull on weekdays

tis true week days dont get too many horsey types gettin in the way,
where abouts in somerset are you ? me and me lane partner have been exporing around cerne abbas.
