xl600 lmf

Hi i'm a newbee to this site. I have an 1986 xl600lmf and am trying to get hold of some bits. Side panels and exhaust flange collors. E-mailed Dave Silvers and not got back to me. Also looking for a wiring diagram, managed to get hold of one but it is in german, tried using a translator thingy from net but its having a harder time than me. Any one got bits laying around that they want to sell, or point me in the right direction????

Good choice of bike i have the same that i have just started restoring.
Side panels are NLA now from Honda as for the collars i would call David silver as they can be slow in emailing back.
I have a genuine workshop manual i can get copid for you if your happy to cover the costs, its a big bugger so wont be cheap!!!
Also got a parts book on its way from Germany which i can copy if you want.
If you just want the wiring diagram i will just copy that page and stick it in the post for free.

Thanks thats very good of you, i just need the wiring diagram. tried google translate but did not rek the words?????.
Brought mine of a mate who had it years and through th wiring loom away and cut the rest????? put the bike together just the wiring to do. If you dont mind sending me a copy i will be glad to cover cost. Hows your bike going???? is it the fully faired one??

he may well have a loom if not give landmark motorcycles in bristol a try as they have just broken one.
Mine is an Italian import that had sat in a barn for 10 years plus! Not the fully faired one i wish it was i am riding it to turkey next june!!!
Just got my frame back from the powder coaters so will be building it up over the next 2 weeks i may have a few bits and bobs left at the end so let me know if there is anything else you need

Im so glad you put up your posts

I had my LMF nicked and got it back really shoddy. So far i have the engine out of the frame and the front forks, just need to remove the rear swingarm and send the frame off for powder coating. My main problem is getting that red engine paint- does anyone know what type it is ral no etc. Honda wont tell you what it is.

As regards to a wiring loom i got a few bits yesterday from a guy in rugby called ray- he has boxes of spares for them, including the wiring you require

Ps he also has exhaust collars and possibly some side covers (he had a front mudguard) ring him as he probably has all you need

I now have a parts book so if anyone needs part numbers for the lmf give me a shout.
You will be surprised what you can find when you have the part number i have just ordered a load of bits from David Silver by part number that were not listed on the website
