    Hi Kirtek, i was looking for a valve block that i could bypass easily as i wanted to keep the whole thing as simple as possible and obviously robust.I agree with you that the f/mudguard is as good a place as any and am looking at one of these or similer.
    I need to be sure that it will work at the right temp range and that if it fails it fails in the fully open position. So i will keep you posted

    I can give you the drawings for the thermostat unit on my XL, if you're interested. It hasn't failed a single time in almost ten years of use.

    That would be good,if yours has been that reliable then it must be a good solution.

    Hello all, I used Pirtek UK : Europe's Number One provider of fluid transfer solutions. Hose replacement, mobile hose replacement. for both the pipes and unions. The advantage being that they are van based so the feller could measure cut and fix ends on site.
    This obviously only works cheaply if you have a job that involves kit with hydrollic systems and so on but the feller who made my solution also works on other peoples kit.

    thanks for the link.its not what i would call a bodge looks like you put abit of thought into it.you certainly will not be worried about an oil leak.best of luck ..ian.
