RE side panels: there is a guy on ebay called ray his business is enduro spares

his no is 07980549026 it may be worth ringing him up about side panels- he had a few lmf bits when i saw him about a month ago- could be worth your while.

Could you please forward that info you sent to midlife crisis to me- the manual (i think is was anyway) I have a haynes one- i do not rate it and it covers the full range of xl and xr 600s (didnt even have info on the dual carb setup) That would be a great help- anything i can do for you- let me know

    Going off topic slightly

Check this out, an xl600 pharoe rebuild
    XL600R Pharaoh Restoration - ADVrider

There seems to be another motorcycle breaker in bristol (motorcycles unlimited i think) Maybe you should try and email them for side covers??

What did you do regarding your fasteners Danny ?

I have used all the original fasteners,
I clean them up in Deox c then re zinc them
in fact i try and zinc plate most parts before painting if they will fit in my tank.

A couple more pictures engine now in
Carbs cleaned and refitted, airbox refitted what a bugger to get in took nearly on hour of twisting and pulling All new cables fitted and set up.
Engine is ready to run now just need to sort the body work and rebuild the wheels (i have stripped them and re zinced the original spokes)
Hope to have it all done by next weekend as im off on my hols for 3 weeks and can't relax until its finished

Im surprised you managed to get the air box in ! I couldnt get mine out without removing the rear shock.

I hate that about some things so frustrating !!

Do you do plating for a living ?

Front caliper looks ace as well as forks. Did you repaint them ?

How about the rear swingarm have you replated that.

I must say yours looks awesome. I can only dream mine could look that good !!!

    Well done Danny

oh yes- i haven't had a reply from sticker man- don't know why I will have to get on his case next week. Just to let you know.

I got my frame back and my little silver bracket that goes under the headlight assy today. They both look good- just waiting for my old nuts and bolts to come back.

I would be interested in the manual - do you have any idea of cost ??
