Thank you Kjell

It would be so nice to get it back up to scratch as i was so heartbroken when it was nicked. I have a super tenere as well- i genuinely wished they had nicked that !!!!

I will keep posting progress- it might help others (such as stubbow) im sure we can all learn a thing or two from each other, or in my case a thing or ten !!

Re: Xl 600 LMF rebuild by Andrew W

ok everyone here are some more pics of the newly painted frame and headlight bracket

Here is the unfortunate part:

No plate

Here is the bracket that goes below the headlight which looks mint

And finally this is the front mudguard. There were really deep scratches on the right hand side about 3 inches long but a day of sanding seems to have done wonders !!

Firstly id like to thank everyone for their help and advice up until now. I thought i might start to post a few pictures here so you can get an idea of my progress. Any questions/ comments/ suggestions would be much appreciated as this is the first rebuild of this scale i have undertaken.

These are the original pics i have of the bike of when i bough it on eba

`

Now most of you might be thinking- not a bad looker- wrong. ... a couple of scroats stole it, little bastards. I suppose i should be thankful i got it back in some kind of condition- but it doesent help that the police do absolutely nothing about it. Anyway back to the bike.

So far i have stripped the bike down completely minus the front forks and rear swingarm. These have a couple of scratches but nothing major - i don't think bad enough to warrant a rebuild. The screen you see on the pic was damaged in that they broke a bit of the fibreglass and the screen- i could probably fix the fibreglass but the screen- it is anyones guess where i could find a replacement.

Anyway here are some strip down pics: - most of the electrical damage was done by the scumbags- pics of the tank i will put on later when i get to painting it.

I have a top yoke and lockset as i am breaking the bike

thank you midlife crisis- unfortunately i have these things if you had the twin light setup i would be very interested- although i see danny was interested

If you have a complete set of indicators- original and Good condition and Working order i would be interested.

Hi the headlight is square but do have orignal indicators but alas the n/s/r is broken and the one of the front needs a lense. My email addy is brian 5171 at hot mail. co .uk, if you send me your e-mail addy i can send some pics, see if interest you. Althought i have the bike listed on fleebay and the parts are flying out. It was a complete bike
