    Xlr 250r rfvc engine upgrade

    hello all.i am new in this forum and i would like to ask on how to upgrade a xlr 250 rfvc engine model 1990.

    i am from the philippines.

    can the bore be milled to accept a xlr 350 piston?or a bore from a xlr 350 better?

    A common question, but I'm afraid the answer is no.

    Bored and stroked will get you to 300cc, barely worth the effort, very costly and way more stress on the engine.

    Just get a bigger bike; its the XR400 you want.

    I thought the Philippines had a 200cc restriction?

    Or is it 250 and that's why you ask?

    let us know!

    thanks mike.

    strech you can only buy a new xr or xlr 200cc in the phils.mine is a 250 from japan.

    i will just have my bike upgraded to 280.i have the 77mm wiseco now .i am still deciding on what carb to use.it will be ported and the valves will be changed to a igger one.

    whats the best carb for this set up.

    Not sure on the carb but FLAT SLIDE's are the way to go, apperently?

    Again, unless the engine is totally busted I wouldn't bother, but maybe you have a friend who can do all the work for nothing!

    Good luck
