    xl250s

Just gone and brought one as been toying with the idea of restoring something for a wile, this came up, so here i am. Its a 1978 xl250s and still has the side panels (i find that amazing seeing as it was a field bike)
    Couple of questions
It has a steel wheel on the front 21inc, am i right in saying they should of had a 23 inch? and on the back an alloy wheel. Does any one know which its suposed to be steel or aloy.
Next one is its dark blue, Been searching and cant find any that colour on google images. Need the paint code and decals (i know they are goint to be like finding rocking horse muck) any help or even pics would be of great help

Can't help with the paint or stickys but both front and rear should be alloy the front being 23".
It's getting difficult finding tyres for that size so many fit the 21.

    Re: xl250s

Cheers for that, looks like i may have to get a 23 wheel then, will have to get some pics posted. Never restored anything before so lets see how it goes. Bikes all there for saying its been used as a feild bike for years, (well apart from back light, indicators and front part of the rear mudguard) they didnt even cut the wires, just taped them back. Runs like a dream and only 15k on the clock and not even a ding on the tank
Any advice on what works and what dont when restoring would be great. Seen a Zinc plating kit on fleebay, any one used one??? thinking of nuts and bolts, foot pegs that type of stuff?

    thanks in advance
