    Show us your XL Honda

I had a look see back over the previous posts & there's nothing on here like there is on the XR page.
    So here goes...

This was my project bike that I bought as a basket case from a friend. He's so pleased that it was put back on the road he wanted to buy it back from me.

This was how it was when I sold the bike. It gave me a lot of fun & good times, but I had bought myself the XR400 seen on the other side, so the 250 had to go. Shame that it was too big for the wife, but I don't think that she'd have been able to kick start it very easily....she's too used to the electric starter on her CB550F2.

This was my first ever dirt bike that I bought from a friend for Ģ125 back in 1985. It only needed a base gasket replaced & it gave me a lot of laughs for not much money. It took me all over the green lanes of Kent, Surrey, Berkshire & Hampshire & never let me down.
Pic shows my daughter trying it for size.

Best pic I can find at the moment.

This one nearest the window got me back into bikes. A friend needed some repairs and I purchased the XL250s sortly after.
The LM-f was an engine siezed mess when I got it and ended up as you see it.

This was also purchased in bits.

Still going although not as strong as it could be. Been a lot of fun.

    Okay, here's mine:

First pic taken in Senegal, second one in Mauritania.
Notice the impression of the tweezers in the second pic... that's what the guy used to pull the print out of the developing fluid. That must be what they mean when they say 'a developing country'.

Pics taken in 2000, but the bike is looking very much the same today.

Keep it original and un-restored, as per my motorsport. I only did the other because it was almost scrap and would not have been able to be used much longer.

My XL600R on Salisbury Plain back in the summer. Just after this picture I had a shorter suspension link made to lif the rear by a couple of inches which made her perfect(for me). Currently off the road needing a couple of jobs then mot...must get it done...soon!
