    Post Stripping 250 engine

Ladies and gents, after mucho wringing of hands etc, I've taken the plunge and started to strip my xl250 '76(gulp). It's got a rattle from the top end which I hope is the cam chain and tensioner worn out.
So far its not too bad, my brain hasn't gone into overload just yet. However the Haynes manual says about 2 domed nuts that hold the cylinder head down, on my engine there's just 1.
Its positioned on rear offside of the bike. The big questions are -is it in the right place and if it is, where should the other one be?? Anyone out there able to help?

From memory I think there are 4 bolts and 2 nuts that hold the cylinder head down, I guess you have already removed the 4 bolts, these can be seen when the rocker cover is removed, there are 2 nuts one front and one at the rear of the cylinder head, they may be domed or just normal nuts, they can easily be overlooked if the engine is very dirty but they are there, front one is just below the exhaust ports the other at the rear is approx same position.

I just realised that when you say "cylinder head" you may be referring to the rocker cover? If so then after removing all the bolts you can see you also have to remove the 2 inspections covers as there are 2 more bolts to remove.
