    XLR125 Neutral Switch

The wire to the neutral switch had come off and was dangling, so of course I think simple fix I'll just solder it back on.
Well the solder didn't like to stick to the neutral pin, so after reviewing the workshop manual, which suggested that the neutral switch just "pops out" I decided to take it out.
Hmmm well one snapped off switch later, half of it is still in there and half of it is in bits. So how does the damn switch come out? It looks terribly corroded which I guess won't be helping.
For the time being I've taped the wire out of the way as this is probably a nice to have rather than an essential fix.

    Re: XLR125 Neutral Switch

Is the wire a light green colour?

Other neutral light switches that i've come across have a small spring that holds the wire in place in a drilled hole in the switch spigot. Normally they're just held in place by an 'O' ring on the shaft of the switch. It sounds as if the 'O' ring has congealed to such an extent that it's stuck-stuck.

Yes green wire and that would make sense with the wire clipping in. And it looked to me like it was just a push fit in hence just pulling it out <SNAP>.
I guess I've got to work out now whether it's worth drilling it out or let sleeping dogs lie! At the moment I'm on other things more important.

the green wore is the neutral wire if you look at it closely you will see a small spring push it back there is a small hole where the wire goes into the spring keeps it in place failing that buy a new switch it just pulls out of engine
