Well I eventually summoned up the courage to change the clutch on my ancient 125 XL. Although the last time I did such a job was in the early sixties, I thought just how difficult can it be? Well all was going well until I encountered the three screws on the centrifugal oil filter cover. Now these screws are really tight and I'm left with a dilemma, what's the best way to get them out? As we all know the more I muck about and try to get them out without success, the more I will bugger them up. The best policy I thought was to ask if anyone has had a similar problem, and how they managed to resolve it. Armed with any information I might get at least my next attempt will be based on sound knowledge and with unadulterated screw heads.
I could try an impact screwdriver, but I wonder about the possible damage I might cause to the bearings or whatever below.
Also in my manual I'm finding it hard to find the correct torque to do up the twelve bolts on the crankcase. Anyone know offhand what it is?
Any info would be much appreciated.
