i have a 98 xr400 with a seized engine, i`m looking at buying a second hand engine, will all xr400 engine fit straight into my bike or did honda alter them over the years.

Nothing really changed on them for the entire production run so you wouldn't have a problem with a motor swap. Why bother though you could get a used one in the same condition as the one you have and there's no motor easier to work on than an XR even an untrained chimp could rebuild one
