There aren't any apart from starting it if you drop it, I sorted mine out by fitting a pumper carb.
I recently had the misfortune of turning it upside down and it started third kick.
It depends on which year and country of origin as to if it has a steering lock- mine had, but as I have now fitted an adjustable pro-taper top yolk it hasn't.
You can't go wrong with an XR, there's lighter, quicker, better suspended, but there's nothing that's more reliable for trail riding.
Check the steering head bearings as the grease can be boiled out, all the other bearings, the swing arm bolt has a nasty tendancy of welding itself ( with electolytic action ) to the engine.

steering lock ...if its a uk or euro model then no..

if its a usa import or an australian one then yes.....
and they are quite common....stay away from the usa version... too many restrictions... ive herd the fuel econnomy on the assie ones is un real......

check l/h side engine cover for leaks, front and rear wheel bearings ( theese are easy to do ) sprokets and chain for wear... head lamp if ur using it on road make sure its a uk type with e mark... could be hard to check but spark plugs sometimes like to seize in solid ...wich can be a big problem....other than that they are pretty indistructable
