    No Spark

    No wonder couldnt start my 400,after buying new plug and spanner lo and behold no spark,question is where do i start,when i kick the bike over the high beam light illuminates as does the speedo backlight,any ideas please??

    Plug and plug cap first if thats all you touched. Check the cap is wound on properly to the lead and try kicking it with the old plug to see if you get a spark (try at night if not sure if there is a spark). Check electrical connections (give em a wiggle) and see if you have knocked something. Check HT lead into coil is ok.

    Still no joy,everything else on the electrical side seems to work,headlight comes on as you kick it over as do the idiot lights,how can i check to see if its a faulty coil?

    Don't know much (anything) about 400s, but you'll most likely find that the ignition coils are separate to the lighting/charging coils, so the fact that the lights flicker prob. doesn't mean much.
