Motocross or Enduro boots are the same ,I would say the O Neal is the good boot at £60 but does depend how hard you are going to use it. .
Both Mx/ enduro boots have for some reason fairly smooth soles making hard to get an grip on wet muddy surfaces . (much to the amusement of others )

There are trail boots which give better sole grip but offer less protection than the MX boot see below , note the grippier soles

I tend to go for Sidi as the toes area it is smaller and allows for more control . The annoy thing is most modern boots are more plastic than leather and can't be repaired its they split or break
These are the boots I prefer

But they do have a smoothish sole.

I've newer pair of Sidi's (flexiforce ? ) that haven't worn as well as my older ones (plastic split) but they give more protection, waterproof but are heavier.
Alpinestars are good but for me its like having my foot encased in a lump of concrete

Although ive recently bought some new Alpinestars (last pair i had were crap but i thought i'd give em a go again) i cant stop wearing my old Oxtar TCX Comp's. The Oxtars are brilliant boots, nothing to fault them at all. Not cheap though but as the saying goes with helmets, if you've got a 5 quid head wear a 5 quid helmet

I have a pair of alpinestar tech 3 boots. They come in either motocross with a smooth sole or All Terrain with a treaded sole and steel toe ends.

These are the all terrain ones that I have. They are the first pair I have ever owned so cannot compair. I went for a size larger but now they have bedded in are a tiny bit sloppy. will go for the same shoe size next time.

I agree, makes your leg feel like they are clad in armour!! Good for kick starting the xr4!!!

I bought a pair of the o,neal boots about 6 weeks ago and they are just starting to break in. For the money you can,t beat them. A word of advice though is to check and tighten the screws that hold the buckles on at least once a month as they can come loose and fall out. All round though they are a good strong boot and for those of us on a budget they will be hard to beat.
