right the sarn helen road that go,s from neath to banwen is only open may to september.
the other half from banwen to brecon is open all year round
banwen to brecon is a good full days ride on its own

weather permitting i,l be doing the brecon run next weekend so i,l take a few photos and try and post them up.
ok I've just checked the ordance survey map did you mean north from neath to banwen?? Hope we are talking about the same route that starts at Aberdulais-Banwen or very near to Aberdulais thanks for the information up to now I'm hopping to do a 3 day trip at the end of the week I want to do most of the longer trails if I can strata Florida etc
thats right but the road from Aberdulais to banwen is closed at the moment thats not to say its still being used
then theres banwen to brecon witch is open all year round the only
difficult part is that theres quite a wide a river crossing and if theres been rain the day before i wouldent advice trying to cross it.
ive seen landys being washed away when its in full flood.
same go,s for strata Florida that also has a strong river.
i dont know much about this road through ive only driven once years ago in a 4x4.
if your down around this why at the weekend i know for plenty of tracks that would keep you happey for days![]()
Ha if landys are getting washed away then I have no chance with the xr or I could drink a RedBull as its meant to give you wings. The Banwen to Brecon route is the start located east along the A4109 then there's the tracks marked on the map to the north heading through the Coed y rhaiadr forest then onto a roman road heading north?.Are all those trails marked === around that area ridable off road trails as around my way we only have the normal byways open to all traffic marked as +++ obviously so that all I've been looking at on the OS map of the area
i have no idea about maps up this way normaly its just a case if finding a track/road/rut and following it
will say through theres more than enough to keep you going.
i would like to do the strata Florida run again my self
great just dont want to p*** anyone off by going on a route that isnt open etc
most of the time you,l be lucky to see anyone unless there on bikes them selves.
there is one part where the police have been hanging around a bit latley its called walters arena witch is private land, there are 2 by ways witch cross this part of land one is the Aberdulais to banwen route witch is open all year round
but as long as your bikes taxed and you stay on the by ways there not a lot the old plod can say.
besides they have to stop you first![]()
thought you said Aberdulais to banwen route was closed at the moment ???????![]()
it is, theres only a small part of it open like i said its only a short ride on a gravel road that go,s through the private land so your not missing much anyway.
the main part banwen to brecon is open![]()
