    Obtaining a Certificate of newness

    Desprate for some help people,
    Please could anyone tell me how to go about obtaining a certifiicate of newness. I need it to register my 2001 XR 400. I understand from talking to people that i need to pay for the document , but can anyone give me a phone number or contact address.

    Ask your local honda dealer for advice i think you have to get it from a honda importer. when i got one for my trials bike i got it from Gas Gas uk (because it was a Gas Gas) and i think it cost £15.

    contact Honda UK.....they can sort it. Quote frame and engine number

    I do not think you can get a certificate of 'newness' for a 7 year old bike.

    what you need is a 'dating letter', to prove year of manufacture.

    these are obtained from ; an owners club or recognised vehicle dater.... or from honda if they can be bothered.

    one i have used is George Nuttall from manchester. (lost tel number)

    his number was posted in a thread recently by Nomad. (do a search)

    £35ish i recall.

    there are vehicle dating sevices advertised in 'old bike mart', or maybe classic bike
