Used to be that if you could not supply evidence of date of manufacture (dating letter) or certificate of newness, a Q reg would be issued.
However, I beleive if you can get a dating letter you can re-register and be issued with an age related number.
other thing with Q reg ; insurers tend to offer only 'third party' insurance. (from my own experience).

I think all vehicles should have the new reg docs by now.
Do the engine and frame numbers match the reg doc ?

so where would you get a dating letter from? honda? why would it have been q plated in the firs place seeing as it has numbers
