Brrrmm - '04 XL650V Transalp in Silver
It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?
Einstein - Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
You really need to note how much fuel you put in to fill up. Tanks can vary in size - I've had one that looked perfect, but actually had a huge dent that had been filled and painted - you couldn't tell from the outside.
Also my 650 doesn't have a reserve - it just has a crappy gauge.
I trundle down the motorways / country lanes / then city centre for my daily commute, i'll get to 120 miles to 3/4 of a tank (i only ever use the premium / optimax or equivalent), i start crapping myself if i dont see a petrol station soon!
Im still new to the bike so i darnt take it past 3/4 mark cos i've no idea how far that last 1/4 would take me.....i'd guess 150 miles would easily be acheived.....
My 2007 TA averaged 50MPG (well 49.9 to be exact) in regular use, which should give me a theoretical range of just over 200 miles to a tank (not ran it till dry, hence theoretical).
Changed the chain, sprockets and a few other bits and pieces earlier this week and put on a K&N filter and a 16 tooth front sprocket (standard is 15) - Not sure if this will result in better MPG, but will post the new figures when I next fill up (today or tomorrow).
This is all well and good, and interesting, but anyone any idea how many miles per gallon could I expect from an XR600 (or 400) pottering about the backroads?
