Hello chaps,
I'm after some risers for my XR400 Renthal bars, does anyone have any recommendations?
Also, would I have problems fitting the standard cables with them fitted?
Thanks.

I bought a pair to raise the bars in order to clear the top of the Acerbis 22 ltr I bought for the bike.
Vertical risers by 25mm, standard diameter, £20-ish from ebay about 9 months ago. No issues for me: cable action has not changed at all, really...
Hi Joeh
I've fitted 30mm risers to my xr400 and have no problem with the cables i think i could go another 25mm without any problems, got them off e bay 30mm was the highest i could find makes riding much better when standing up
Thanks for the info chaps, just what I was after.
Just out of interest, how tall are you?
Yeah I have the same problem of being hunched and it's causing my back to ache and I can't straighten my legs when standing.
Just in case anyone is looking for similar, I ended up buying these

RAMIREZ Std (22mm) BAR RISER KIT 15 - 35mm

Liked the idea of them being shimmed so I could adjust the height but ended up using the full 35mm. Had a quick stand on the bike and it feels so much better although not used it on the trail yet but felt much more comfortable.
I'm 6'4" and I only have 20mm risers on my XR400, which of course isn't quite enough, but its what I could find at the time. Seeing that there are 35mm available I am going to have to bite the bullet and get the bigger set. Anyone want to buy some 20mm risers!!? But I'm not sure even I need 35mm.
What I have noticed in the short time that I have been trail riding however is that you trail guys tend to stand up way too much. I have only been trailing since Nov 2007 but I have 36 years of off road riding in most disaplines (mostly MX & enduro) under my belt. The guys I go out with at least seem the very instant they are off the tarmac they are standing up! Don't get me wrong I am one of the great 'standerupperers' in MX but standing is a tireing business and should be avoided at all costs until absolutely necessary in my opinion. I know the agument about centre of gravity etc and if you are confronted by a huge great rock step then I would be the first out of the saddle, but it is simply not necessary to stand up on a flat dirt lane just because it has no tarmac on it! Most bikes these days have a nice comfy saddle, give yourself a break and sit down!!
Of course this is only my opinion...... and I have been known to be wrong!!![]()
I like to sit down alot on the trail as well but after a few hours the old backside gets a bit raw so standing up is a rest for me which is made easier with bar risers. been thinking about doubling up on the risers to make the bars higher. I know someone who is about 6' 4" and has made some 4" risers for his xr 650 looks a bit wierd but he recons it makes a hell of a difference.
