XR 125 will bump start, won't electric start! Any ideas?

    Hi all,

Thank you all for you replies to my spares question a few weeks ago. I rebuilt the engine & am now on the last leg. Every thing is running except the bike won't start on button. The battery is now ran down after repeated attempts, but it will bump start . Is it a case that a low battery may have been the cause all along?

    Any ideas?

    Regards Rob

Sounds like a battery test is a good place to start.

    Hi Snap,

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes it was turning over on the battery but repeated starting attempts have now drained it. I have a feeling the battery was not strong enough to fire sparkplug under compression, even though it sparked fine when out of barrel.

New battery on its way so I'll let you know what happens then

    Best regards

Thumbs up Re: XR 125 will bump start, won't electric start! Any ideas?

OK, new battery in and after a few minute fiddling with choke *BANG* away she went! Afew minutes setting the idle and bike is now 100% mechanically sound.

Thanks to all for your help on this!
