New bike, a few questions.

Thanks Jason, the diagrams are just what I needed. I think I will spend a bit of time going through the loom from end to end and get it right. The lack of fuses is a first for me but then again I am used to a bike with a battery.

I have another question. I was going to have a go at the wiring today and I note the wiring diagrams in both the downloaded manual and the haynes one dont show brake lights, horn or other "road" items. No bother I can work it out but 2 things puzzle me.

1. The bike I have had a butchered loom (see pics above) and as well as the regulator/rectifier under the tank it had another one mounted behind the headlight. Is this some sort of known/common addition? Of perhaps just a bodge. Pics here....

The UK spec XR4 has DC and AC circuits, the US spec has only AC. The regulator under the tank is for AC and the regulator/rectifier mounted behind the headlight is for DC.

Thanks G520. I had sussed that out after I looked at the wiring diagrams.

I have a made a bit more progress, the bike is together and looks complete but I need to order for a few small final parts before I can fire it up.

Unfortunately pressure from her indoors means I need to do some household stuff for the next few weekends and given that, on my bike priority list, the XR comes third at the moment after my other 2 bikes then it might be June before it finally gets completed. I will post an update when I have it running.
