    Bloody Roads!!!

Dropped my XR125 for the first (& hopefully last) time today. Coming round roundabout at about 15mph. Arse end of the bike just slid away. Road was fairly greasy although it wasn't raining. The roundabout is also at the exit of ASDA petrol station so I don't know if there was maybe some fuel that I couldn't see. Just scuffed the end of my brake leaver though so no damage done. Just a tiny bruise on my thigh.
    Careful out there folks

    Re: Bloody Roads!!!

I've done something just like that.
I'm at the entrance to a roundabout in between the 2 lanes of cars to beat the traffic. When I manage to pull out, keeping the speed up, I find i'm going to fast to make the turn, lean the bike over anyway and so hit the floor like a sack of spuds. There's now traffic everywhere while I'm on my arse and the DRZ ticking over on it's side.
I rode off like a dog with it's tail between it's legs.

Round-abouts has to be one of the most common places for spilage.
Learn from it, I keep forgeting.

I thought German highway agency was strict in that respect.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Get two and zip tie one somewhere discreet as a get you home spare, same for the clutch lever.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

They are, and foooooking expensive if your caught

by the looks of it a truck had filled to the max and not put the cap back properly on all right handers you could see the puddles getting smaller. I asked the shop I was visiting to call the council / fire brigade not sure who eventually reported it but the next day I saw OIL warning signs all over and the left over "SpillSorb" I suppose thats just another for the taxpayers to cough up for.

With all the restictions and envoroment polices I sure fitting a non return valve in the tank neck would save spillage
