Guess what i did today??? Hare'n'hounds

Entered The south west championship (god knows why) Hare n hound at Nancemellion, we entered in the sportsman class. It was an early start 10am weather was damp to start with but then really hot and sunny.
It was a 3hours race each lap was 7 miles. I managed 1 1/2 hrs after that i started with dehydration and fighting the weight of the bike. Got 2 laps in and a dnf.















































I have been thinking about a smaller lighter bike for doing this sort of thing and i did get chance today to ride a KTM200exc was felt ok but was equally as high as my XR. I also tried a Gasgas ec300 which felt far superior to the KTM as far as riding position and seat height but a 200 or 250 would probably suit better. So may have to keep an eye open for one at the correct price locally.

Realy well a lot more resonsive and quicker reacting, pity it's made the bike taller as it wasn't low before certainly made it comfortable to go quicker over uneven surfaces

Too right!!! everything now is crf, ktm, gasgas and a few klx250/400. All half the weight of the xr

Sweeet, fair play to ya i wouldnt mind havin a crack at an enduro or summat, did you enjoy it? how much did it cost u all told?

Hard work on th Xr the bikes heavy when you start getting tired, i stopped after 90mins, full distance was 3hrs it cost £30 to enter (and £10 for day license if you dont have one)
