I beleve it has a plastic long range tank, dodgy green paint job and be in need of some TLC, well a lot of TLC.

Was looking at one on this auction Welcome to MOD Sales Online - Military Vehicles for Sale - Auctions site a couple of days ago but it seem to have gone.

I've got a '97 ex- army XR 250r. She's only done 2k and I bought it for £600, how about yours.
Its true they do need a bit of TLC, mine is very tatty and I can see why. Being ex-army myself, the mentality seems to be its not mine so WTF!

They come with a big 22lt Acerbis long range fuel tank, full road kit, indicators, horn, brake light switches etc. They are almost an XLR only without the battery, and have extra voltage rectifiers.

I didn't get mine directly from auction, but from a bike dealer selling it on his behalf. I didn't see it running, but figured it would be a good buy anyway. The problem is I can't get it started, and the symptoms point towards the kick start shaft having a tooth missing.

When I've got it running my intention is to strip it down, powder coat the frame and put it back almost to the state that Mr Honda intended. Another guy on here Edclarke has one and has done his up in Army colours.
