You know that you can take it one further dont you.......?

Fully or Semi Synthetic Deisel Oil works very well in your forks, alot cheaper than proper fork oil and it works as a very good damper as its slightly thicker so your forks become more progressive/plusher.

I also use the Diesel oil in my bikes, Harley softail, Yam XTZ 850, RM250 and a XR600r. In the engines and the forks.

    Havent had a single problem.

We used OMD 80 in the Armstrongs and Harleys, Needed to change it regularly when I used it in my bikes but used it mainly to flush the engine, it does take a lot of residue off the cylinder linings and turns black almost immediately.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

    Re: XR 4 oil consumption

MMMM OMD80 now replaced by OMD 90 I believe, anyway, back to the subject, I heard that the OMD90 was rated at 10/50w so maybe not good for the bike, but then again we stick it in rolls royce engines and trucks and generators to name but a few, weird how im still opyimistic about putting it in my bike when im putting 10/40w diesel oil in it anyway.
I put omd90 in the harley I rode on a 24hr enduro at longmore training area and ragged the bits off the old girl and she was fine, so I have to ask myself again why am I loath to put it in my Honda???????????

    Re: XR 4 oil consumption

The recommended oil for my Husky was 10w/50,I think that it's mainly for Race/tuned engines.

HAHAHAHAHA, A Harley MT350 Race tuned now that is a funny thought, mind you if the husky can take 10/50w I wonder why an XR250R doesnt list it in the Haynes manual as an oil that you can use, Im still loath to try it out in my Honda though, MMMMMMMMMMM should I or shouldnt I ????????

    See what you mean!
Though putting the 10w/50 in it,didn't stop it from grenading and leaving me with a £1500 repair bill....

    Re: XR 4 oil consumption

Ouch that was expensive, really makes me think twice now about putting it in my bike now.
