    Oil Cooler

Hi I am in process of fitting an Xr400 cooler to a Xr280 2000 year model .

The pipe from the clutch cover is fitted no problem . The smaller pipe that comes around the headstock to where the original clutch cover to frame pipe went is the problem in as .

On the 400 the fitting it attatches to on the frame is horizontal where as on the 250 it is vertical . Now with the original 250 pipe removed I have a pipe with two ends I can cut off and use one for best position , I can then also cut the pipe from the 400 one so I still have the attatchment to the Cooler.

BUT if I get some high enough pressured hose could I just jubilee clip this to the pipes .

    As fitted no expense spared

Pic 1 shows how the 400 pipe wants to sit due to the lug it goes on , on the 400 is horizontal .

Pic 2 is not a rocket science fitting . First the original mounting lugg has been removed as it is lies against the breather tube . The pipe which is under no pressure as it only dumps oil in the frame is held in place with a trimmed down ,
rear bracket which clamps a lever to the bars .

I have done 60 mile since fitting , no leaks

I do not intend to weld lugs to support this cooler as it sits pretty tight as is . I may thread a bar with rose joints and go from one of the tank brackets .
