AC 10's
Hi All
Back to the off roading after a long break, My XR600 came with AC 10 tyres fitted, first ride out last weekend really good, great grip on quite tough rocky going, it was warmish and no rain, still a bit of water about, this weekend went on the same trail and it was raining, it was like riding on two different sets of tyres, the front was the worst, trying to wash out and even worse on the way home pulling up at a road junction, which was a little slick tarmac, the front let go big time, didn't go down , but it was close.
Anybody else had anything like this on hard wet surfaces, didn't like it much

Re: AC 10's
I find a rear AC10 pretty much rocks on all surface, never had a front as I have used a MT21 which always seems to grip, although that now needs replacing but I have a spare Michelin Enduro Comp to go on

Re: AC 10's
Thanks for the replies.
The back sliding has never really worried me, but the front is slightly different, I haven't had a tyre let go like that before not even out and out MX tyres, I think I checked to see if it was flat about 10 times

Re: AC 10's
I've got Pirelli Scorpion AT70's,but they are more of a road orientated tyre and as I remember, they gripped great in the wet and dry.

Re: AC 10's
For some reason when ever i have bought a dirtbike they always seem to come with AC10's which i can tfor the life of me see why?
I always swap them straight out for a set of Mitas C02 on the rear and the E11 or e19 for the front, they are FIM road legal enduro tyres and are cheap too, and the best thing is they grip when its wet as well as in the dry, i crashed heavy first time out on AC10's in the wet, front just let go on some damp tarmac on the way to a trail and i swore i would never ride on a set of them again. IMO they are crap, but thats just my opionon you have to sort out for yourself what you think of them.

Re: AC 10's
Hi Todd.
Thanks for the response, as I said before they didn't seem as good as the weekend before, when it was warm and dry, obviously not on the trail, there was plenty of water about on there
But this weekend it rained on the way back, I came to a T junction which the tarmac was quite shiney, slowing down as normal and then front wheel goes to tuck under
not nice.

Re: AC 10's
another here who thinks ac10's are crap.my ccm "pushed" the front and felt vague on all but dry surfacers.pushing the forks through the yokes 10mm quickened up the steering and made the front feel "grippier".

Re: AC 10's
Hi Ogri
Thanks for the response, I thought I was a little out of practise when my front end started moving all over the place in the wet, I was talking with a rider who has ridden ISDE and WEC and he told me the same, so there coming off.

Re: AC 10's
Yep i found AC10's crap as well the rear is only half worn and i couldnt give it away so i bined it however i have found that the front AC10 works well with a TKC 80 rear fitted dont know why but it does
