Need info on a '95 XR, what tanks fit

Hi everyone, I know this is more an adult sized bikes forum and what-not, but i've got an old XR100r that I grew up with and it's got a huge crack down the side of the gas tank. I know that a lot of models are interchangeable and I was wondering if you fine folks could point me in the direction of information regarding swapping tanks for different years/models. I was looking for a tank and I don't really want to get a used 15 year old tank when i could get maybe a 10 year old one in much better condition. Also, I was wondering if maybe some of the other bigger models, which look like they mount identically, would fit this smaller sized bike. I swear this '99 xr400 tank looks like a carbon copy of my '95 xr100's. thanks for information/suggestions!

Looking at your XR 100 and reading a bit about it,I reckon that the Hyosung,or any of the Chinese XR/XL copies would fit (If your after a brand new tank) As would the XR 125/200.



You may need to change the seat,if your going for a different tank though.
Looking at it,it does look the same as my 600

Why don't you try cyclebuy.com in San Fransisco, i got a clarke tank from them they had a huge selection. I don't actually remember the xr100 being imported to the UK but i may be wrong.

hey marlando any bike with XR in front of it is an adult sized bike, only adults can handle the sheer grunt of the big pig...

have you looked into plastic welding? it might be an option.

hi guys, i wanted to say thanks for the replies and the suggestions! i'm still in the process of looking around. I went ahead and rinsed the tank out, set it in the sun, and it swelled up, filling all the gaps the crack had formed. I got some gas tank sealer putty and put it in, and i'm gonna see if that works.
