    17" to 18" ?

    Hi there all of you!
I just bought a xr600r -86 in nearly mint condition. The only problem is that it's hard to find 17" tires here in Sweden, so I've been thinking about swapping to 18" instead. So my question is if I can use 18" wheels from later models on my -86

    Welcome fella.
Has it got supermoto wheels fitted?
The later XR's run different front forks (cartridge) and use a 17mm spindle,so if you have a measure, you'll be able to see.

    Re: 17" to 18" ?

It still got the original 17" 21" wheels mounted. So I'm talking about the rear wheel. From what I understand the xr:s were mounted with 17" until 1988? So back to the question: Can I use the rear rim from another xr 1989-? I ride 80% on gravel so I'm just interested in getting hold of cross tyres without being ruined everytime I need a new one.
Sorry if I didn't express myself clearly enough, my english probably suck but that is how it is

    It's better than my Swedish!
Looking at this- Honda XR600 Motorcycles

It looks like the swingarm never changed,so I'd stick my neck out and say yes.bearing in mind you'd have to change over to a rear disc brake if your using a later rear wheel. ('91 on)
