Been offered a 2000 XR650R with 19000km on the clock will this mean it has a lot of wear and is close to a rebuild or is it like the @ and just run in.

I can't see many sensible owners going for that one. If i was selling a bike and someone asked me that i would just show them where the door is and tell them how to use it. Certainly wouldn't be taking the filters out for every tom, dick or harry that wanted a look at. All it would tell you is if the oil's be changed recently and you can do that with a dipstick. And if you check the dipstick when engines cold that will tell more about if it's had any head or overheating problems.
