XR 250 RE 1984 same engine/transmission as 1985>1988 models?

Hi,i have my bike for the last year,and was preety happy with it ,untill one day.
I need some parts ,and i found one of them at this:
Honda Motorrad Ersatzteile Versand.
The problem is I also need this part,from the picture:number 2.



They said they dont make it anymore.
My question is:do parts from 1985> fit in my 1984 model?
For sure?
I mean,this part costs 150 euros,so unless I know for sure,i wont buy it.
Normaly it should,i think,but I need an expert opinion.

Hi,

Just had a quick look on CMSNL parts fiche and it looks like the 84 is different to the 85+

Part numbers:
'82 model =23220KA6000
'84 model =23220KK100
'85 model =23220KK0770
'86 model =23220KK0770
'87 model =23220KS5000
'88 model =23220KV6000

Part numbers dont match so unlikely to be the same all through the range...

the thing is,if they dont make the part,and you cant take it from the same model different,or,next year(1985),should i just forget about the bike?
I mean,if there is no way i can find this part,i might just look at the engine,there is nothing i can do.
As I see,there is a lot of 1984 Xr 250 out there so if you brake this part you are in trouble
I dont know what to do.
Its full season and im just looking at the engine,and cant do nothing

Only option might be to fit a newer engine?
Or maybe sell the bike and good engine parts on ebay and put that money towards a newer bike that's easier to get parts for?

Have you tryed all those part finder websites?

Cant really see any other option.Maybe taking your old part to en engineering company and seeing if it's possible to get one made up? (dunno if it's as easy as that,but someone out there will definately be able to make one)

Hi,
i have seen that many parts from transmission are the same number,dimension,etc as the 1985 model,including the main shaft.All the barings,gear tooth are the same 1984-1985.
