sorry if its a stupid question, but is the kill switch on,i know i have done it by accident a few times

also check the connection on left side engine, there is a green wire that goes
into a spring clip(for the starter motor)if i remember correctly its behind the front cog cover.i had a prob with mine/bad connection and mine would not fire up everytime

I assume kill switch was on and it wasn't anything silly like turning the ignition off to reset an immobiliser if you have one fitted. What else have you checked ? it's bound to be something daft if was running fine then won't start at all. Got any more details? checked all fuses??

Re: 04 honda xr125L wont start

i used the kill switch to cut off the bike and i have checked and replaced plug and checked fuel and compression (compression checked by putting my thumb over the plug hole )

Re: 04 honda xr125L wont start

Guys he has said that he is getting a spark, niether would happen with an immobiliser or kill switch fault..

Is the bike CDI or points based? If points then check the condensor.. Also I take it you've checked to see that the HT lead/cap isn't arcing out (just kick it over in the dark and you should be able to see any arcing)

You said in your above post your still getting a spark, again i'm assuming that was tested with plug in the HT lead held against the engine. I remember doing this as a trick on mates old bike simulate a fault then draw over the ht lead with a pencil, then when he takes it out and tests for spark with graphite being a semi-conductor he gets a belt from it.
I don't think it would indicate arking may be asplit in the lead. I also think were all going down the wrong road here it was running fine turned off then doesn't run. I can't imagine this is anything sinister it will be something simple and daft. I did have a fault with a friends klx650 which did this sort of thing when looking at it found the ht lead at rotted out in the plug cap simply unscrewed the cap cut an inch off and screwed it back in again aok

Re: 04 honda xr125L wont start

that sounds very plausible i will try that tommorow.... would a rotted ht lead cause no spark or just a very weak spark
