Few pics or my xr250 head re-build...

Probably no one interested but i love looking through pics of bikes in bits so thought i'd post it up anyway

    Bought it for £300 as a non runner.It's a 1986 model.
The guy was riding it on the night time, took it home and parked it in the garage.Next morning it was losw on compression and wouldn't start.

I did a compression test and got 50psi dry then 100psi wet,so iff with the head to check the pistons and valves.
Piston and rings were just out of service limit so i thought it best to replace them anyway, but i think the main problem was causes by the exhaust valves.
I took them out and re-lapped them in so that's now sorted.
Ordered base and head gasket~head bolt~exhaust studs and bolts~oversize piston and rings~new plug and oil and filter, which come to £100 total (not too bad i thought, and that's all from honda )

The bike has 7 months tax but just ran out of mot.It would have failed for steering head bearings so i have now changed those (the bearings cost £35!)

That's it,just waiting on the engine parts from honda and i can put it back together and get it back on the road
    Some pics:

    EDIT:

This is how it looked when i bought it:

Will give it a really good clean up though before it goes on the road.
