    let the exhaust breath!

today i arrived home from work with a purpose, armed with my new die grinder, and some of B&Q's finest die bits, off i trotted to my garage with the sole intention of sorting out my exhaust.

so what was wrong i hear you ask!!! well thanks to some over zealous welding, there was a ring of weld around both my outlets on my headers.

here is a few pictures of what i did to rectify my problem!

the header on the left is the after, and as you can see, the right one is the before.
the whole Job took about 3/4's of an hour using firstly a small bit, then progressing to a larger one until i had smoothed of the excess weld.

here is a somewhat blurred but noticeable pic of the finished port!

    and the unfinished port,

and before long, the finished product!

    P,s..........
what do you think of my latest crazy idea of putting some wheels on my xr

it has seen a lot of use,,,,, some hard,

this is the bike when i got it,

with this slight adjustment to the head stock------

    http://i318.photobucket.com/albums/m...r/DSC00150.jpg

since then, it has had a total strip down, frame painted with 3 coats of undercoat, 4 top coats, and 2 coats of lacker.

    then from this,

to this as it was 3 days ago-

to this as it is now

so as you can see, it has been used and in its old life,,, abused. but now she's being well looked after and cared for.

i paid £350 for her when i bought her in the state she was, spent about £850 on her, she is a 2002 so all in all, i dont think ive done too bad out of her.

next mod is the FRC 60 carb to go on, should be fun getting it jetted to suit the xr???

the wheels are off a Suzuki GS500E. i got the pair including front and rear disks, sprocket carrier and cush drives, and the speedo drive and cable form the well known auction site for a whooping £40, so if they don't work, i haven't lost a lot eh?
