    Front sprocket loose?

    Hi,

Just changed my XR250r front sprocket from a 13 to a 14 which seems to have improved the ridability of the bike no end, however, the front sprocket still wobbles on the output shaft, is this normal?

    Flip.

Thanks, only just bought the bike. Still trying to find my way around the mystery of green laning and then I'll be off exploring before winter sets in

And another vote for a wobbly front sprocket on my 400.

Just changed mine at the weekend and cut too many links off the brand new chain as well!

    Re: Front sprocket loose?

What a relief, thought my 250's sprocket or shaft was shagged!

    Re: Front sprocket loose?

OK, looks like it's a design feature but I wonder why? I'd have thought being solid on the shaft would be the ideal way to fix it, less wear etc. Maybe it allows for movement when there's ****e on the chain?
